These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Golden Mile Haulage Ltd unless a separate signed contract explicitly replaces a clause.
By placing an order, booking a route, or instructing us to collect and deliver goods, the client confirms they have authority to accept these terms on behalf of their business.
1. Service Scope and Booking Basis
Service details are agreed per individual booking or per contracted route plan, including collection and delivery points, load profile, vehicle class, service level (urgent / next day / scheduled), and target windows.
Transit times are estimated using live route and traffic data and remain subject to road events, access restrictions, weather, and consignee readiness.
- Collections and deliveries are curbside unless a different requirement is agreed in writing.
- Client must provide accurate addresses, contact details, and handling notes before dispatch.
- Any dangerous, restricted, or regulated goods must be declared before acceptance.
2. Pricing, Surcharges, and Requotes
Quoted rates are based on the information supplied at booking stage. If load dimensions, waiting time, route constraints, or service type differ materially, we may issue a revised charge before completion.
- Tolls, congestion zones, permits, and ferry charges are billable where applicable.
- Additional handling, redelivery, or failed collection/delivery attempts may incur extra cost.
- Mileage-tier and route-based pricing rules are applied in line with active commercial settings.
3. Cancellations, Delays, and No-Show
Clients should notify cancellations or material changes as early as possible to reduce operational disruption.
- If cancellation occurs after driver allocation or dispatch, a partial charge may apply.
- Where site access is unavailable or consignee is not ready, waiting time or aborted run fees may apply.
- We are not liable for delay caused by force majeure, road closures, incidents, or third-party site controls.
4. Client Responsibilities
The client warrants that goods are legal to transport, correctly packaged, and suitable for the requested service and vehicle type.
- Provide safe loading/unloading points and any mandatory site instructions.
- Disclose weight, dimensions, fragility, and special handling requirements accurately.
- Ensure persons instructing Golden Mile Haulage are authorised by the client business.
5. Liability, Loss, and Damage Claims
Any claim for loss, damage, short delivery, or service failure must be submitted in writing with evidence and shipment references as soon as reasonably possible.
Liability assessment is based on booking records, POD, route telemetry, communication logs, and applicable law or agreed contract terms.
- Consequential, indirect, or special losses are excluded unless required by law.
- Where goods value exceeds standard carriage exposure, enhanced cover must be agreed in advance.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability where exclusion is unlawful.
6. Invoicing and Payment Terms
Invoices are issued per completed service or on agreed periodic cycles for account clients.
- Default payment term is as stated on invoice unless another term is agreed in writing.
- Late payment may result in suspension of future services and recovery costs.
- Disputed items should be raised promptly with full reference details for review.
7. Data, Confidentiality, and Governing Law
Operational and personal data are processed under our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the courts of England and Wales unless otherwise agreed.
